More Time Now Spent on Mobile Apps than Web

According to a report by mobile analytics firm Flurry, people are now spending more time accessing the Internet from mobile apps than they are from Web browsers (both mobile and desktop). As of June 2011, users are spending 81 minutes a day accessing the Internet on their mobile apps versus 74 minutes a day on the Web, a difference of 9%.

These numbers directly support what Kono Social tells our clients: Your social media pages are your new company website. As this data shows, your customers are no longer going to be finding your business through a Web browser on their computer; instead, they are going to be reading about you on Facebook.

Yelp, Foursquare, Twitter or any number of mobile phone apps. What that means to you as a business owner is that it’s critical you claim and maintain these profiles and listings as they represent the future of how your customers see your business online.
